The first update of the new board :D
Board update October 2024
With the spooky season coming to an end, we look back to all the fun activities that we’ve had.
Voted in!
During the GMA September the 24th we got voted in by all of you. We, as the 10th Board of Link started the first month with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement for what our Board year will bring. After our efforts during the TOP week and Fontys sports day we’re happy to announce we’ve welcomed 47 new members into Link. We wish all the Freshies a lot of fun in our association and can’t wait to see them flourish in Link.
FTOTM
The first day of the month we had our First Tuesday Of The Month drinks at OSB. Lustrum Co came with an awesome announcement and presented all the cool activities they’ve planned for our Lustrum year! Do follow their Instagram (link at the end) to keep being informed about all the cool stuff happening this year.
Lustrum
Since last year Lustrum Co has been working on our Lustrum year. Check out the awesome Bingo card they’ve prepared - you can even win some prizes! We have also been working very hard on a Lustrum LAN together with other Esports associations. This LAN will be one of the biggest events Link has ever organized, and it will take place from the 21st of February to the 23rd of February. We are incredibly pumped to see this event come into fruition, and we hope you share our excitement for the upcoming activities!
Spawnpoint
As always, Spawnpoint has been a popular hotspot for Linkies to chill inbetween their lectures, whether it is to study, play a few games to chat, and keep up the Spoint counter. We are incredibly happy to be able to provide such a safe space.
Unfortunately, the university had to nerf us, and disclosed that from now on, we have to close Spawnpoint at 19:00 every day except for when there are events. Luckily this won’t affect planned events, and events like the terrifying horror movie night at Spawnpoint and Link D&D days can still continue to until 22:00. So, no need to worry, you will still be able to enjoy events to their full capacity. For November, we also have plenty of fun events planned in Spawnpoint! So make sure hop by and join in on the fun!
Furthermore, we want to give a huge shout-out to Spawnpoint-co for keeping SP clean and open. We appreciate your effort immensely.
Link D&D
We started the new Link D&D Campaign on the 26th of September, this time with not only a homebrew setting inspired by East Asian mythology, but also reflavoured races to fit the setting. With races such as Goblins and Fairies being reflavoured into Spirits, this campaign has the most explorative characters and the most varied races we’ve ever seen in Link DnD! The tables for the first set filled up within minutes of the signups opening, and the DMs have made the documents very accessible to beginner players as well.
Interested? Don’t forget to join Link DnD Adventure and Link DnD Announcements chat in Whatsapp to stay updated! (You can find the link to the chats in the TSEA Link app :))
Esports
Our Esports officer has been working incredibly hard, making all the teams, appointing all the captains, planning meetings with all the teams and making sure all the teams are enrolled in the DCES. We have already seen some great games streamed on our Twitch as well! Some of the games have been casted by TK and Ben, two Linkies who are incredibly passionate about casting and esports! They give incredible fun, knowledgeable, and cool commentary. Make sure to check them out on our twitch: https://twitch.tv/tsealink
We also want to give a special shoutout to all the teams that have been playing this split. We are incredibly proud of your achievements so far, and are looking forward to seeing how many of our teams will make the play-offs! As for the team-captains, we greatly appreciate your efforts making sure, your team is functioning well, everyone is on time for the games and the games are being played, we see you<3!
Esportsco have just started up and are already on top of their game! They have already set up a Mariokart tournament which will take place on the 18th of November, at 19:00. Make sure to sign up and stay tuned for future events. It is promising to be a successful year for Link Esports.
Board
Lastly, a small summary of what we’ve been up to. We’ve been in contact with our sponsors, studium generale, appointed our new CA’s, got back in contact with Spartacus for external CA’s, made contact with FOSST and made sure they’re aware of our needs with the relocation of Spawnpoint. For the relocation, we’ve also gotten in contact with several other parties that could have influence for us to get a better location.
Lastly the Cobo season. We want to make sure that Link is seen and known at all the other Student Sports Associations and made sure we visited as many Cobo’s as we could. During those we made some nice contacts and have even gotten requests for collabs. We can’t wait to bring those requests to fruition, together with the other associations.
We hope to see all of you at the fun activities planned!
Much love Board
