Board Update August
August is over, which means the academic year has started! Brace yourself for a new year full of lectures, studying, and exams, but way more important of course, a new year with your favorite student association!
The biggest highlight this month was an amazing TOP week! Board and Candidate Board represented Link on Tuesday with a big stand, showing off tons of Pokemon figures, sparkling cards, colorful dice, dainty figures of our favorite games, and much more. Many many flyers left our stand as we introduced visitors to Link and invited them to our open events in September.
On Wednesday, we built up set ups in the Sports Center for people to enjoy Mario Kart, fighting games, board games and of course, amazing company. We got to show off our awesome Link merch, and loved playing many games with our visitors.
We would like to take this opportunity to also quickly highlight the success of TOP Week so far. The year has barely started and we have already got 31 freshmen, eager to experience all that Link has to offer. Please give our newest Linkies the warmest of welcomes, and if you are new here and reading this, welcome to Link, we hope you will have an amazing time here.
On the 29th, Esports Co hosted our first big open event, the Casual Game Night! With a massive attendance of 63 people, we filled up three entire rooms with King of the Castle, Just Dance, Mario Kart, Smash, board games and plenty of snacks! Everyone was gaming so hard, things even got a little bit lit, but nothing can stop a group of dedicated Linkies from having a fun night welcoming all the new faces to Link!
We are so excited to start this new academic year off together with all of you, and we hope to see many of you at our events!
